A question becomes a brand. A moment becomes a photograph. A daily frustration becomes a product.

01 / Scammer University
What if the college sweatshirt expressed how students actually felt about college?

“School can be used as a stepping stool, but it is a result of the student and their determination to succeed.”From my original Scammer University concept notes
The concept began with a distinction: education can be valuable, but the promise of guaranteed success deserves scrutiny. I wanted to give students an alternative to ordinary bookstore apparel—something that spoke to that tension.
I originated Scammer University and led its development within The Creative Origin. I brought the concept into team meetings, coordinated collection and launch planning, and photographed the campaign. The work was collaborative; creative contributions belong to the people who made them.
The surviving work includes apparel designs, mascot artwork, campaign photography, and plans for a second collection, SCMR.EXE. Meeting notes trace the practical decisions: Printful designs, local printing, pricing, models, and a proposed preorder.
The October 30, 2020 shoot itinerary puts me in the studio and lays out ideas for street interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and model sessions. The December content calendar carries the same question into social posts and student feedback. They show the planning around the image.
A brand takes more than a mark. Looking back at these notes, I see the work around it: bringing people together, asking for feedback, deciding what to make, and organizing the next step. Those are questions I still work on through software.
Concept and campaign photography: Phil Baptiste Jr. Fox mascot redesign: Franko Cruz, TCO Contributor, adapted from a purchased source according to Phil’s account. The original purchase receipt remains unlocated; the artwork is not reproduced in this edition.
This account draws on Phil’s original concept notes, Creative Origin agendas from July and August 2020, collection-planning notes referencing February 2021, the October 2020 shoot itinerary, and the December 2020 social calendar. These notes document planning and reported activity; they do not establish completed launches, sales or shipment totals. Skylark is Satchel Hill’s separate brand and is not presented as Scammer University work.
Phil supplied the historical notes and contributor identifications. AI assisted the present-day archive organization and drafting of this website, including the retrospective framing. That assistance does not establish authorship of the historical work.

The camera has always been part of the practice. An early selection of photographs from my public portfolio, brought back into view.

The next edit
Chicago. Stamford. New York. Richmond. D.C. New Orleans. San Diego. Philadelphia.
These are starting points for future collections of photographs and films. The wider Philmstrips archive is still being edited; the photographs above are an existing public selection.
Behind that work, the first Drive Fabric proof explored owner-controlled NOLA material: a catalog that stays visible while selected media depends on its source node being online. It remains an owner-hosted Lab experiment.

Descriptive captions are new to this edition; upload dates are not presented as capture dates. Web-sized copies are served here; the original public files remain linked. Film collections and the wider archive are in progress.

I’m bringing the same attention to people and context into software, creative work, and the systems that support both.
Product / In development
I’m shaping the product and workflows around church life: preparing a service, sharing information, and following through afterward.

Drive Fabric connects my interest in photographs and films with a technical question: how can an archive remain useful when its media lives across different source nodes?

About Phil
My background spans brand strategy, media, marketing operations, and revenue workflows. Today I bring that experience into product development: thinking about the audience, the experience, and what has to happen behind it.
This is my personal body of work. Selected projects were developed with The Creative Origin, the company context for that collaborative work, with individual contributions credited in context.
Understand the context and what gets lost between one person and the next.
A visual direction, a working page, a product someone can try.
Preserve the decisions and credit the people who made the work.
